The mission of the Champaign Consortium, through the Workforce Investment Act (WIA), Trade Adjustment Act (TAA) and other programs, is to help economically disadvantaged individuals and others who face serious barriers to employment to become productively employed.

Through a number of different books, interactive software programs, and assistive technology, the resource room can assist you with all phases of your job search. Whether you are out of work, looking for your first job, or considering a career change, the resource room provides you with the tools you need to successfully communicate your interest to potential employers.

Jobseekers can begin to develop a personalized inventory of individual skills and interests they can use to identify careers that best suit their interests, abilities and goals. Once you determine the career that is right for you, the resource room has a number of different resources that can provide you with job descriptions and labor market information, projected job growth by industry, as well as information on specific companies.

The Illinois Employment & Training Center's (IETC) multimedia resources, including Illinois Skills Match (ISM) and America's Job Bank, place nationwide employment opportunities and labor market information at your fingertips. Available information includes:

  • salary structure
  • benefits
  • company/product information
  • and more!

Through interactive software and job search publications, you can develop the tools necessary for success, including writing resumes that will highlight your skills, work history and your qualifications for the open position. Additional resources for communicating your interest for a position include:
